Concert Hall on the Zand square in Bruges The Concert Hall was built for the honoers of Cultural Capital of Europe in 2002. The designers of this brand new modern building are Paul Robbrecht and Hilde Daem, the winners of an international architecture contest. Their vision was a building that strives to a harmonious balance with the historical envirronment. The concertgebouw opened in 2002, but was finished only a few years later.

It consists of two halls, the big concert hall with amazing acoustics and the chamber music hall where smaller, more intimate concerts can be organized. The concertgebouw is completely sound-proof because of its structure. It is built on 10.000 springs that absorbe all kinds of vibration.
