Modern Conzett bridge

print

This bridge is a perfect sample of modern architecture. The designer is the engineer from Switserland Jurg Conzett and was also placed within the scope of cultural capital of Europe 2002.

The bridge was placed in coupure area, where the city ramparts were interrupted by the canal where living boats were able to anchor. This wasn't very comfortable for cyclists and pedestrians, because they had to go all around this particular bit of canal to proceed with their walk or tour around the ramparts. This modern cyclist and pedestrian bridge the problem is solved.

It is an electrical bridge that opens automatically for pleasure boats.
