Discover Bruges from an entire different perspective. During a half-hour boat trip on the canals of Bruges you are treated to some fantastic views over monuments and historical buildings. You are dished up aspects of Bruges you would never be able to behold when walking. The driver also gives information and tells fun anecdotes or petty facts. Visiting Bruges from one of the boats on the canals means experiencing Bruges from a totally different angle, it is a relaxed way of taking in breathtaking impressions of Bruges.

Horse carriage rides through Bruges

- Location: The meeting point for the carriages is the Market square. There are no carriages when arriving? This simply means they are all still running, it's best to just wait a minute or two.
City tour tourist bus
The City Tour is a tourist bus that takes you around the city. Through an audiophone you are provided with interesting information about the fascinating city of Bruges. You can choose between seven language, from Dutch to Japanese. It is the perfect way to do sightseeing when the weather is bad. Nothing can keep you indoors now!
- Opening hours: All year long from 10 am through 7 pm (minor seasonal changes)

Guided Walking Tour

Bruges counts with several guides organisations with a different angle and offer. But during winter and summer there are also walking tours at fixed times in which you can enroll. The summer walking tours consist mostly of the historical city centre. They provide the tourist with the possibility to be acquainted with the historical aspect of Bruges, the important places of interest, monuments, architecture and other valuable aspects of the city. The Winter Walk works from a different angle. The guide takes you along the city for an evening walk, along streets and sides you never visited before or would have visited. The winter edition of the city walks aims to get you acquainted with a totally different side of Bruges.

Boat trip Damme - Bruges - Damme
We haven't spoken of Damme yet on this website. Technically and geographically Damme does not belong to Bruges' territory. It is a city itself a few kilometers away from Bruges in idyllic rural surroundings. A city, don't let your imagination run wild, it is a very small town centre, but very picturesque. It's the perfect place to dine in a restaurant or to have long and beautiful walks. It is also going back in time, because the city centre seems to have frozen in time. Visit the medieval Damme by boat. The 'Lamme Goedzak' is an authentic paddle steamer that will take you from Bruges on a 35-minute journey.

Reduction for groups. - Where?The point of embarkation for the boat to Damme is just outside the city centre. You can walk up to it easily, but it's best to take a bus from the station, the Market square or 't Zandn bus 4 (Centrum Koolkerke), busstop Sasplein.
Bike rental
You can also explore Bruges by bike. And for cyclists there is good news! In Bruges cyclists and pedestrians can go almost anywhere they please. They have a lot of freedom in the city centre. One way traffic streets don't apply to them. Especially when good weather, a cycling tour through the old city centre can be very relaxing. A bicycle also allows you to go further out of the typical centre, you can ride along the ramparts for example. That is the green belt around Bruges, where you can also visit the mills.
There are several places for bike rental. Prices range between 5 and 6 euros for half a day en between 9 and 10 euros for a full day.
